Teenage year is a period of time that everyone has to go through… It is a time when teens need people to talk to, become emotionally unstable, sensitive, and self-conscious. Thus, these are the factors which lead to teens following the ‘emo’ trend nowadays.
Due to the rapid industrialization and sex equality, the female had also joined the work force instead of taking care of domestic affairs at home. As a result, teens at home have even a lower probability to sit down with ONE of their parents to express own thoughts, problems and difficulties. This will lead to the sensitive teen feeling lonely and worthless. As an alternative, the teen might look up on his or her friends. However, when all his or her fair-weathered friends left him or her, he or she will be thrown into despair. At this point of time, when he or she cannot not expressing himself or herself verbally, he or she will express it through action, in this case, cutting their wrist.
Apart from the lack of care and concern, the stress of school life is also another reason that drives teenagers into a corner. The high expectations from their parents or themselves make them work like a bull. However, despite the hard work, but still up to expectations, teens feel that they are useless. This, too, cause them into despair.
On the other hand, apart from academic results, looks also take up a large portion of teenagers’ life, as most of them are self conscious. Fluffy hair, fat legs, slightly protruding tummy, pimples, flabby arms are a BIG NO NO to many, due to the influence of models of slim products, facial products and hair products who appeared on the television. Thinking of how to improve their looks, this adds to the stress of the teens.
When stress builds up day by day, it is like sand pouring over u in a pit. When the sand covers you completely, u will eventually suffocate to death…
